July 14: France and all French Dependencies - Bastille Day

"Quatorze Juillet" (Fourteenth of July in French) is Bastille Day, the French national holiday celebrating the Fête de la Fédération in 1790 during the French Revolution.

2002 - During Bastille Day celebrations, French President Jacques Chirac escapes an assassination attempt unscathed.
